The Compliance Officer will support the Legal and Compliance team to ensure the company adheres to the rules and regulations set by its regulatory authorities. The Compliance Officer is required to identify and report any breaches of company and/or regulatory policies to the Head of Legal and to identify and implement a remedy. You would be required to establish key working relationships across the business to ensure required business policies and processes are in place that meets company and regulatory requirements. You will conduct regular compliance inspections internally to ensure the business is compliant with its own and regulatory requirements. You must be a commercially savvy individual. The ability to make realistic recommendations to ensure the company is 100% compliant across all its products and services is a MUST.

 Key responsibilities:
  • Monitor regulatory movements within the industry as well as keep up to date and where applicable advise the business on Key industry changes

  • Advise on business on codes, advertising, player protection, AML and responsible gambling

  • Review consumer products from a fairness and transparency perspective

  • Prepare regulatory returns & submissions

  • Ensure staff comply with the required regulatory requirements or that exceptions are appropriately escalated

  • Maintain company compliance licensing matrix, contract logs and other record keeping/documentation

  • Prepare month, quarterly and year end regulatory reports

  • Conduct companywide inspections as needed but at a minimum annually

  • Update documents, policies and procedures as needed or at a minimum annually

  • Undertake a number of routine compliance monitoring tasks and other manual processes

  • Ensure that the company’s policies and procedures in relation to anti-money laundering (AML), due diligence procedures and fraud and security are robust, satisfy the requirements of the regulators, and reflect industry best-standard

  • Suggest and implement improvements to the policies and procedures

  • Maintain company’s Internal Control System ‘ICS’ and Regulatory returns or documents (prescribed by the regulators) keeping it up to date and informing the regulators when it changes

  • Manage and supervise inspections and audits from gaming regulators, to read through the concluding recommendations and ensure their implementation

  • Manage change requests for updates to sites.

  • Provision of Regulatory Updates

  • Managing the delivery of compliance training to relevant stakeholders in the business

  • Being involved in ad-hoc projects to assist with the smooth running of the department

  • Ad hoc projects and other similar duties as directed by the General Counsel


Experience required:
  • Previous experience with Compliance gaming / online gaming industry sector

  • Strong understanding and previous dealings with operator and software licensees (particularly UK and AGCC Regulators)

  • Experience and understanding of digital controls and systems relevant to a digital gambling business

  • Strong Analytical skills and understanding of all relevant gaming laws and regulations plus code of practise [AML/Fraud]

  • A recognised Accreditation in AML, Data Protection, Risk Management or other areas of Compliance

  • Previous experience in B2C marketing environment

  • Experience of developing and implementing policy and processes

  • Experience of communicating at senior levels

  • Proven ability to recognise the implications of risk, compliance and change at an organisational and project level

  • Experience of devising and delivering new projects

  • Management experience and supporting junior team members.

  • Developing a thorough knowledge and understanding of the relevant regulations related to the company’s core business
